RUSSIA’S WARNING
NO FURTHER MODIFICATION. NON-INTERVENTION IN SPAIN. MESSAGE TO BRITAIN. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph..—Copyright.) Received August 24, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 23. The Soviet Ambassador (M. Maisky) called at the Foreign Office, to-day, and, it is surmised, he repeated the warning that Russia would not agree to a further modification of the British NonIntervention Plan in Spain.
Lord Plymouth, with Foreign Office officials, is continuing the examination of General Franco’s reply to the British Note on the plan for the with-, drawal of volunteers.
