CARNARVON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, Aug. 22. Once again tho Clydesdale School's children’s fancy dress dance was an outstanding success. Although there has been a great deal of sicknoss in tho district, all tho children and parents were present, besides a number of adults from other districts. The grand march openod tho programme and was admired by all. A varied programme, to music supplied by Airs Teague and Aliss K. Maxwell, was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and ended when a supper of fruit salud, cakes, sweets, etc., was served to tho children at 9.30 ’after which the adults took the floor. The following were the winners of the children’s novelty dances: Ailsa McKonzie and Mona Teaguo, Bill Powell and Dawn Teague/ Alien Luxford and Mona Toague, Rox Schultze and Ngairo Short. Mr Mansell thanked all who had helped, and more particularly Miss Flavell lor her work in teaching the children their dances, also Mrs Teaguo and Miss K. Maxwell for tho music. Maxwell are local hockey players picked for the Palmerston North team to play in the Gisborne tournament. Mrs L. Scott is ing part of tho school holidays with Mrs Frecklington at Foxton Beaoh.
