BOXING TOURNAAIENT. The first boxing tournament of the Paliiatua District High' School was held in the Drill Hall before a packed house. The referee was Air J. Davies and the judges Alessrs J. A. Walsh and A. P. Jensen. Mr G. 0. Oxley was the timekeeper, and Air J. Beales the announcer. Results were as follow: Keith Munro (3st 91b) beat Tom Savvell (4st) ; John Kitchen (3st 91b) beat Owen Mitchell; S. Chatwin (4st) beat Kenneth Lecomte (4st 41b) ; Edwin Watson (4st 41b) drew with D. Bevan (ost 101 b) ; Edward Watson (ost 3lh) beat Alistair Thomson (ost 41b) : J. Smyth (ost 101 b) drew with D. Bissett (ost Sib) ; Keith Goer (Bst 61b) drew with F. Beaufort (9st) ; E. Pratt (6st 711)) heat D. Alitchell (7st 101 b); D. Bicknell (lOst) beat T. Lew (Bst 81b). Cups were presented to T. Levy, the gamest loser; A. Watson, most scientific boxer; and F. Beaufort, most improved boxer.

• . NOTES. At a meeting of the Tnrarua Power Board Alessrs S. Tv. Siddells, G. H. Hodd, T. Watts and L. I). Lovelock waited on the board concerning extra l ours for pumping purposes for the water supply for the Paliiatua borough. The chairman (Mr J. D. AVilson) suggested that a special committee be apnointed, comprising Alessrs Bisset, Britlaml and the chairman, to meet the members of the Borough Council on Tuesday next, with power to act.—This was agreed to.
