(From Oui' Own Correspondent.) STANWAY. July 29. The Drama Circle of-the Stanway AVomen’s Institute was very elated to : he placed second in the festival at Sanson. The play presented was “Anti-Clockwise.” the characters being played by Airs W. Harvey and Mieses Joan Dormer, Violet Green and Ruth Marshall. Congratulations are extended to these members ’of the Institute The Stanway cribbage team has put up quite a creditable performance and \will play against Dunolly fork the Rangitikei Club Shield. Mr E. Christian, with 81 games, was presented with an aggregate prize. Tuesday evening saw only a poor attendanaee for the Ping Pong Club’s evening, there being only about 14 players. However, the tables were kept occupied. Mrs J. AVhitehcad, of Parewanui, has been the guest of Mrs A. Green. Mrs E. Christian is the guest of Mrs I’ask. of Himatangi. Mr J. Macfarlanc is a visitor to AA’ollington. The friends of Mrs Sanson will be pleased to learn that she is making good progress. Mr E. Rosser is spending a holiday in the South Island. Airs A. Marshall is a visitor to Wellington on Women’s Institute business. ' Mr R. A. Robbie, agricultural instructor of the Wanganui Education Board, visited the school during the week. The district nurse medically examined some of the children on Wednesday. Several of the Stanway residents attended the Anglican combined social at Halcombc.
