OBITUARY.
MR ALBERT GIBBS. There passed away at Whakatane on Monday last after a very short illness, Mr Albert Gibbs, who was 63 years of age and was born at Sanson. He was a son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Gibbs, of Sanson, who later resided at Utiku. His mother died some years ago. but the father, Mr J. H. Gibbs, is still alive and resides now at Marton. The late Mr Albert Gibbs at one time had a flax mill at Foxton and later was engaged in sawmilling at Utiku and more recently at Murimotu, Hihitaln. Mr Gibbs was then the proprietor of a private hotel at Ohakune, and later purchased an hotel at Taumarunui. After some years in Taumarunui, Mr Gibbs recently retired and went to live in Auckland. Tt was while on a visit to Whakatane that Mr Gibbs took ill and died after two days’ illness. The late Mr A. Gibbs is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sisters: Messrs C. 0. Gibbs (Auckland), L. W. Gibbs (Marton), R. ,T. Gibbs (Taihape), G. E. Gibbs and E. ,C. Gibbs (both of Utiku), Mrs Kristcnsen. Mrs Reid, Mrs Jennings (Palmerston‘North) and Mrs Lind (Rongotea).
