(From Our Own Correspondent.) HALCOMBE, July 8. At a committee meeting matters concerning the Golf Club championships were finalised. Those qualifying rounds of 9 holes arc to be played, the best two rounds to count for the championship. The first eight players will qualify as seniors. For the championship matches it was decided to play over 18 holes in the senior grade and 9 holes in the junior. If players are unable to play their qualifying round on .Tuesday they may play it any daV during the week. It was decided that, when weather conditions render it impassible to hold ladies’ day on Tuesdays, the competition be played on the following Thursday. The following is the draw for the qualifying round to be played oil Tuesday: Mrs O’Sullivan aiid Mrs 11. Anderson/ Mrs L. Fergusson and Mis N. Ball, Mrs Ashworth and Mrs Owen, Mrs Nairn and Mrs Lock, Mrs Amadio and Mrs W. Davies, Miss I>. Blunden and Miss V. Blundcn, Mrs N. Anderson and Miss M. Anderson, Mrs E. IV. Cowdrey and Miss E. McLennan, Mrs Nicol and Miss 0. Fcrgussdh, Miss Joan Fergusson and Mrs J. L. Fergusson, (Mrs F. Cowdrey and _ Mrs It. Cefwdrcv, Miss J. Dormer and Miss T. Old, Mrs R. J. Managh and scorer. There was a good attendance of players at the Hockey Club’s fortnightly “500” evening. The prizes were won bv Misses R. Wischnowsky arid D. McNae and Messrs E. Wischnowsky and E. Campbell. Miss Wischnowsky won the prize for the travelling flag. . , , Mr J. Hughes is spending several weeks in Christchurch.
