RUGBY FOOTBALL
V t ' INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS
SENIORS’ SECOND ROUND.
Two very interesting games were seen on the Showgrounds oval on Saturday in the continuation of the senior grade inter-club competition of the Manawatu Rugby Union, the second round being commenced. Fine weather and only one wet patch on the ground made conditions suitable for open play, and in both contests this was seen. Old Boys used their backs extensively to beat St. Patrick’s, B—o,B—o, and Kia Toa were troubled, as in their previous meeting, by United, but lifted their play to a higher plane to win 9—6. It was one of the finest games seen on the oval this season. At Feilding, Massey College beat Feilding Old Boys by 11 points to nil.
