ALL SAINTS’ MEN’S CLUB.

A feeling of informality and comradeship filled the hall at the function of All Saints’ Men’s Club, when there was a good attendance, and the chaplain (Rev. S. J. Holland) was in the chair. An apology for absence was tendered by the president (Canon G. Y. Woodward), who asked for. volunteers to assist in publicity work for the forthcoming centennial appeal by the Bishop. A number of members responded. Major J. T. Bosworth was the opening 10-minute speaker and entertained the audience with incidents which he had observed in connection with spiritualism and “ghosts.” These were both interesting and amusing. The chief speaker, as arranged on the syllabus, was Mr A. M. Lascelles, who received a warm welcome. His subject was “Osteopathy,” and after opening with the origin of medicine and science, he brought his hearers to the present-day methods of medical practice as performed by the different schools and colleges of medicine and surgery. The speaker outlined much work that was done in the United States universities, and brought in the names of many noted professors and doctors. A number of questons were asked and keen attention was manifested till a late hour. ’

The chairman moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Lascelles for his address. Mr V. Contaur and assistants served supper, and the secretary announced that bowls would be played on the next two Wednesdays.
