SPEED ON WATER.
NEW BOAT BUILT. LONDON, May 25. Secretly built from designs by Mr Edward Spurr, an engineer, in collaboration with the late Colonel T. E. Lawrence, a 16ft. speed boat which has been christened “Empire Day” is expected to achieve a speed of 90 miles an hour in an attack on the world record on Lake Windermere within the next three weeks.
