(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, May 26. A very enjoyable evening was spent at the homo of Mr and Mrs Roy Anderson in the form of a concert and dance in aid of the Western Queen, Miss F. Anderson. The drawing room was beautifully decorated with 'autumn-tinted leaves and Canna lilies. Mrs R. Anderson received her guests, wearing a. marocain crepe, while Miss F. Anderson wore gold stencilled satin and Miss M. Anderson floral eatina taffeta. Miss Ruth Henson, the Eastern Queen, was wearing black lace and net. The following items were rendered : Mrs Law, Miss Paton and Mrs Collier, a trio (violin, ’cello, piano); Miss F. Anderson, vocal solo; Miss Paton, ’cello solo; Mr Budd, vocal solo; Mrs Law., violin • solo; Miss Jean Masters and Miss F. Anderson, vocal duet; Miss J. Masters, vocal solo; Misses F. and M. Anderson, pianoforte duot The concert was followed by a dance and a flag “500” tournament.

There was a very large gathering at “Rungapuki.” the home of Mr and Mrs' F. Collier, last evening, in aid of Miss J. Butler, the Central Queen. An unusual feature wa6 a table tennis tournament. Mrs Collier received her guests, wearing taffeta, Miss Jean Butler wore spotted marocain, Miss Ruth Henson, blac knet, Miss Francis Anderson, ivory satin. Winners of the flag “500” were Mrs A. K. Drew, Mrs W. E. Pearce, Mr Parkes and Mr Davies; consolation, , Mrs J. Fagan, Miss M. Bailey, Mr and Mrs McDonell. Miss Verita Butler won the ladies’ table tennis competition. -
