FRENCH SITUATION.
CABINET’S DECISIONS. PARIS, April 20. After reviewing the situation Cabinet, contrary to expectations, issued no decrees. Financial circles are relieved that the Government refuses to he stampeded, nevertheless they feel the crisis cannot be solved by standing pat. On the Bourse prices sagged. It is understood 1)1. Marchandeati (Finance Minister) told Cabinet that recent events on the Bourse and the foreign exchange market had. eased the position of the Treasury and it was not necessary therefore, to extend the limit of Treasury borrowing from the Bank of France. Cabinet decided on a drastic purge of undesirable aliens and stricter control of the frontiers. M. Bonnet (Foreign Minister) secured approval of the Italo-French conversations. An Ambassador is to be appointed to Rome immediately the League Council authorises recognition of the conquest of Ethiopia.
