THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Your correspondent, Mr W. F. Cutler, stated in his letter of the 20th inst. that he knew of no municipality or company that appointed three men to do a job that one man was doing satisfactorily. There is an old saying that you have got to hear both heads of the drum sounded before you can tell the good one. The members of the Citizens’ ticket will sound the drum and also the members of the Labour Socialist ticket, _ and the electors will be the judge. I intend to vote for men of business ability and all the members of the Citizens’ ‘ ticket have proved themselves such. The Labour Socialists have stated from the public platform that to have a successful Labour Socialist Government you must have a Labour Socialist City Council to aid and abet it. 1 do not believe in Socialism, for Socialism is Communism. Therefore, I must support the Citizens’ ticket. I refuse to be bullied into voting for something I do not believe in. The late Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward warned the people against Socialism and his judgment was always sound. I believe the people are waking up to the fact that their liberty is at stake, both civil and religious. I liope they will remain awake. Christ said man liveth not by bread alone. —I am, etc., CONTENDER.
