PROCEEDINGS POSTPONED.
DEPORTATION MOVE. WASHINGTON, April 19. Pending an appeal to the Supreme Court to decide whether membership of the Communist Party does not constitute grounds for deportation the Labour Department lias postponed the the deportation proceedings against the Labour leader, Mr Harry Bridges. This move has resulted from a Circuit Court decision freeing Joseph George Strecker, who admitted lie was a Communist, from a deportation charge similar to that against Mr Bridges.
