THE LONDON MARKET. The butter market is firm and active, according to the report supplied by tho Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board. Last week’s closing quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follow: New Zealand. —Salted. 121 s to 1235, ex. 124 s (118 sto 119 s; a year ago, 106 sto 107 s); unealtcd, 123 slo 124 s (121 sto 1225; a year ago, 106 s to 107 s). Australian. —Salted, 121 s to 123 s (llofi)I unsaltcd, 122 s to 124 s (120 s to 121 s). Danish. —103 s f.0.b.; 123 s spot (100 s; 1225). .... , Dutch.—Unsalted, llßs to 119 s (115 sto HBs). Lithuanian. —Unsalted, 122 s (118 s). Retail prices are unchanged, New Zealand at Is 2d to Is 3d a lb, and Danish at Is 3d to Is 4d. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 1727 tons. The quantity in store, including 383 tons_ ex the’Akaroa, was 5335 tons, as against 5471 tons a year ago. Australian butter deliveries last week wore 1673 tons, the quantity m store being 3586 tons, as against 5956 tons a year ago. . ... , 'the Imperial (Economic Committees estimate of the stocks of all butters in store is 629.012 boxes, as against 623,851 boxes a year ago. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week were 14.984 crates; the quantity m store was 70,782 crates, compared with 84,208 crates a year ago. Deliveries oi Canadian cheese last week were 3084 boxes; the quantity in store was 66,074 boxes, as against 65,620 boxes a year ago. BRITAIN’S DAIRY IMPORTS. NEW ZEALAND CHIEF SUPPLIER. New Zealand ranks easily first as a supplier ot butter and cheese to UreatBritain, ns is shown by the import iiguics for the first quarter of this year. Of the total imports of 119.020 tons of butter into Britain during tho three months ended March 31, New Zealand supplied 44,044 tons, or 37 per cent.
