I rincess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary of York, celebrates her twelfth birthday to-day. She was born on April 21, 1926, at Royal'Lodge, Great Windsor Park, her father and mother now the present King and Queen, then being the Duke and Duchess of York, Her only sister, , Princess Margaret Rose, is four years younger, having been born on August 21, 1930.

Mrs J. L. Braithwaite, of Waipukurau, lias as her guests Mrs G. Penlington and Miss Trotter, of Palmerston North.

- Mrs N. S. Triggs, of Grey Street, Palmerston North, is a visitor to Wellington.

Her friends will be pleased to learn that Mrs C. A. Small, of Rongopai Street, has recovered from her recent illness and will leave on Saturday for a short holiday. Guests of Mr and Mrs L. H. Collinr son, Grey Street, for the CollinsonWoods wedding, were Mrs N. Gilray, Miss B. Gilray and Mr J. Gilray, of Waimarama.

Mrs E. Bayley, of: Palmerston North, and her daughter, Miss Mary Maclean, are staying in Wellington, prior to leaving for England. Mrs G. Forster-Pratt, of Fitzherbert, and Mr B. tors ter-Pratt are visiting Wellington. Mrs P. Leamy and Miss Mfeureen Leamy, of Kairanga, are visiting Christchurch and Oltaroa. Mr and Mrs Ernest Galpin and Miss Sheila Galpin, of Marton, are visiting Wellingtoh. Mrs Bassett-Williams and the Misses Cynthia and Zona Bassett-YY'illiams have returned to Palmerston North after visiting Wellington for the Possenniskie-Lincoln wedding.

Mrs O. H. Williams, of Elmira Aveue who has been visiting Auckland with Mrs F. Bass, of Wellington, has returned to Palmerston North.

Miss Barbara Miller, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs John Miller, who has been spending'Easter in Palmerston North, has returned to Wellington, where she is studying dancing. Her friends will regret to learn that Mrs H. G. Byers (Miss Doris Moore), the well-known contralto, of Palmerston North, was unable to continue at the Sydney Eisteddfod, owing to having contracted influenza, according to a cable received yesterday. Mrs Byers proposes to return to New Zealand next week.
