ATHLETICS AND CYCLING

MEETING AT FEILDING. Favoured with a warm, fine night, the Feilding Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s annual sports meeting at Kowhai Park on Saturday proved a most successful one. Nomination fees amounted to over £lO, while £44 Gs was taken at the gate. Although there were similar meetings at Sandon and Taihape on Saturday, the fields were particularly good, and some excellent finishes in both the cycling and athletic events were witnessed. - Unfortunately, H. Cocker suffered a spill in the last cycling event and was. injured about the iiead. The racing was got off to schedule, and the officials carried out their duties most ably. Supper was provided for competitors by a ladies’ committee. It was announced that, at a meeting to be held in April, V. P. Boot would appear. Competitions and stalls were conducted by the Feilding Cricket Association for its pavilion fund, and good business was done.

Mr AV. Turner, of Colyton, entertained with trick cycle riding and tumbling. Results of the events are as follow: ATHLETIC EVENTS.
