BEACONSFIELD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BEACONSFIELD, March 21. The following annual report of the Bcaconsfield Golf Club was presented by the secretary (Mr E. Buchanan) to the annual meeting:—We have had a very successful season from a financial as well as a playing aspect. During the ’season a bridge over the ICiwitea Stream was erected at a cost of £ll 8s 2d by Messrs J. C. Williamson and R. E. Stuart. A new green was put clown by Messrs D. C. Old and J. Stowart. whom we have to thank. The club affiliated with the New Zealand Golf Council and adopted its insurance scheme. The club played two inter-club matches with Kimbolton, losing the one at Ivimbolton and squaring the other at home. Tho following have been thanked for donations; —Messrs D. P. Buchanan, N. N. Barron and C. M. Richardson ; for the flooring and stove in the clubhouse, Mr and Mrs Green; Mr D. (J. Old, for the use of his entrance to get to the links, and Mr J. Stewart for the work ho did on the links and for the help he gave to other members. Winners of tho competitions were: Junior championship, E. Buchanan; runner-up, T. Callus; Bennett Cup, M. McLean; runner-up, E. Buchanan; weekend competition, E. Buchanan; runner-up, T. Gallus; one club competition, V. 0. Kelly; runner-up, M. McLean; Yankee tournament, J. Stewart; runner-up, E. Buchanan; match play on handicap. F. Arrow; runner-up. J. Stewart; junior competition, Joy Wither; runner-up, David Williamson; closing day competitions, approaching and putting, F. Arrow; runnerup, J. Wither; mixed Canadian foursome, Mr and Mrs J. Stewart; runricr-up, J. Wither and Miss Joy ■ Wither. The club’s prospects for the coming year are bright as several new members are joining up which is what the club wants. Tho meeting was well attended which augurs well for the coming season. The following officers were, elected: President, Mr J. C. Williamson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Old and J. Wither: club captnin. Mr J. Stewart; vice-captain, Mr G. G’oggin; secretary, Mr Stewart; treasurer, Mr Coggin; auditor, Mr C. M. Richardson; committee, officers ex-officio and Messrs R. E. Stuart, N. H. Short. M. McLean, E. Buchanan, arid T. French; green committee, Messrs R. E. Stuart, J. Stewart, G. Coggin, and E. Buchanan. It was decided to hold opening day with a mixed Canadian foursome for which players, are to choose their own partners. Senior and junior championships were decided upon for this year with qualifying rounds in June and July. It was- decided to enlarge the club house by building a vorendah and that tho bridge decking bo completed. Working bees are to prepare the greens, erect stiles, and clear up the rushes.
