A British Official Wireless message states that it is officially announced that the King will inspect the Home Fleet on June 21 and 22. A New Fork cable message says that the death has occurred of Mr John Waddel, the bridge builder. Mr AV. Mr J. AV. Coddington, who lias been stationed for 14 months at Palmerston North as a Transport Department inspector, is to exchange posts with Mr J. H. Mr and Mrs H. P. Horne, Mayor and Mayoress of Woodville, were visitors to Palmerston North last night, staying overnight on their return from New Plymouth, where Air Horne lias been attending the Municipal Association’s conference.

Mr J. Hill, a well-known building contractor, passed awaji at the AVaipuknrau Hospital on AVednesday after a brief illness. Mr Hill was born in AVoodville in 1889. Air H. C. Petcliell, postmaster at Onehunga, will retire on Alonday on superannuation after serving for 40 ye ais in the Postal Department, the last eight of which have been spent at Onehunga.
