LONG HEARING.
WOMAN’S DAMAGES ACTION. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, A larch 5. Bv a three-fourths majority verdict, the jury hearing an action in which Mrs Alice Darlington, of Waihi, a widow, claimed a total of £Bl5 damages from Dr. Archibald Jenkins and the Thames Hospital Board, found in favour of defendants. The action occupied eight days. The jury deliberated for six and aiialf hours. Airs Darlington claimed damages, alleging neglect and careless treatment of her by Dr. Jenkins during the period she was in the Waihi Hospital suffering from a broken thigh and a broken wrist. The allegation was denied. Both si,des called considerable evidence, mostly medical. The jury retired at the adjournment yesterday and returned at 8.20 p.m. with a verdict for the defendants.
