SYDNEY WOMAN ARRESTED. LONDON, Feb. 23. A Sydney woman, Miss Shirley Brown, who is the sister of Miss Nancy Brown, who plavod in the title role in the film version of “The Maid of the Mountains,” has arrived in Liverpool. She was arrested at Elvas (Portugal) after being denounced as an active Communist. Miss Brown was imprisoned for six days at Elvas and Lisbon and was closely interrogated, hut was allowed to join a steamer for Liverpool on paying an embarkation fee in addition to the fare. She had also to sign an undertaking that she would nqt return to Portugal.
