DANGER PASSES.
A FRENCH CRISIS. Received March 5, 8.5 a.m. PARIS, March 4. The danger of a Cabinet crisis disappeared ea.rly this morning after days of wrangling. The Socialist Party has changed its mind and allowed M. Chautemps (Prime Minister) to pass the Labour Code Bill, on which M. Chautemps had staked the existence of the Government.
The debate revealed that the Government was held together by the loosest ties. The future is most uncertain beca.use tlie result lias been to intensify antagonism to the Chamber’s Popular Front majority. BILL PASSES SENATE.
Received March 5, 1.10 p.m. PARIS, March 4. At the sixth attempt the Senate passed the Labour Code Bill after M. Chautemps’s declaration that the issue was one of confidence.
