BILLIARD TITLE.
McCONACHY’S VIEWS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 1. Mr Clark McConachy returned today from Sydney. Although he finished 4200 odd behind Lindrum, he said he derived a good deal of satisfaction from playing him, and' that his form towards the finish had convinced him more than ever that in the near future New Zealand would have the world title. The first time the opportunity offered he would contest the world title. In connection with the low table’ (mentioned in the cables) Mr McConachy, indicated that he drew attention to it straight away, but there was no rule available to measure it so he waived the matter hut found that the longer lie played the more at sea he became. He had the table raised through liis solicitor, and after it had been raised Lindrum made an 1100 break, one of the biggest in the match. He himself had played a different game, though very much out of form. Mr A. Cohen (chairman of the Billiards Association Council) who also returned said there was no doubt in his mind the best man won, hut MeOonachy was practically tlio second best player in the world. He had seen the billiard players of the world and' was convinced, the title would remain with Lindrum until he retires or dies.
