“OUSTING ENGLISH INFLUENCE.” _ ~~TOKIO, Feb. 14. Under a big headline, “Asia for the Asiatics” the Yurniuri gires prominence to a report by a German journalist from Bangkok that Siam is rapidly comitig under Japanese influence. Tim report says: “The Siamese are ousting the English influence of their own accord, and not because of Japanese machinations, as is generally assumed.” It ridicules the report that the Japanese hope to cut a canal through the Kra Isthmus. It adds that the tide against, the whites, wherever they are typified by Englishmen, is rising from Suez to Tokio.
