MARTON, Feb. 26. While repairs are being carried out to a bridge on Henderson’s Line, which collapsed under the Borough Council’s roller yesterday, the road will be closed. Mr and Mrs A. T. Gutrell and Mr and Mrs H. Sutcliffe, junr., ore touring through the Auckland and thermal districts. Mr G. N. Deighton, formerly of Wanganui, has taken up his residence in Marton. Mr and Mrs E. Openshaw left for Wellington to-day from where they will leave for an extended tour of Great .Britain, via Capo Horn. They intend to spend six months in Great Britain in visiting relatives and sight-seeing, and expect to return home in November. On their return voyage they intend, if possible, to witness tho Melbourne Cup, in company with Mr B. Openshaw.
