WANGANUI WOOL SALE.

BROKER’S REPORTS. NBw ZEALAND LOAN AND ' ' MERCANTILE AGENCY. A quota of 2400 bales is reported by ths New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency C 6., Ltd., at the Wanganui wool sale held on Friday. There was a full and representative bench of buyers, who competed keenly for the lots _as they came under the hammer. Competition was more geheral than at the previous sale'in this Centre. The Continental section dominated the markot, but Bradford was stronger than was expected and secured a fair weight of wool. Compared with those obtained at the sale at Napier, prices can be quoted _aS firm, with the exception of lambs, which Were decidedly easier by about a penny a lb. The wool opened up in only fair condition, with tho exception of a few super Ibts. Some clips carried a lot of seed, but On the average seed was not 60 prevalent is in some seasons, and, considering that most of the clips on offer at to-day’s sale wero unskirted, it is pleasing to. report that prices wero firm, and the major portion of the entry changed hands. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on a dairy clearing sale held on account of Mr A. Saunders, Fitzhcrbert: Although very late in thb season the' prices' roahsod for this herd were very outstanding. The whole herd -including unsound and empty .cows, made the highly satisfactory avoritgO of £6 2s, and - excluding these the average was £9. There was a large attendance and bidding was very keen. Top sound cows made from £lO 15s to £l2 10s. others from £7 to £10; unsound and empty, £4 2s 6d to £7; heifers, r.w.b., £5 15s to £7 2s 6d; weaner heifers, £2 19s; pigs and sundries realised good prices.
