HALO HAT FASHIONS.
The halo ha.s won in the new hat race. But it has won with a minor handicap. The 1938 halo brims will no longer be the new moon crescent which
only the young and pretty can wear, says a designer. This year the halo will have a bend in. it across the front. This “break” in the line not only lowers the brim, but gives scope for originality in the shape of wing bows a.nd folds in the actual felt- of the hat that can be adapted to individual wearers. Soft, pliable felt is first favourite for millinerv. Black, navy and the clear flower shades in pinks, mauves and woodland greens are the ones that promise to be most popular. The Paris models all show a predilection for the flat crown tilted sailor fashion to the side, with a clip of gipsy gold or coloured stones at the side of the head band.
