BRISK BUSINESS. ... WELLINGTON SHARE MARKET. Business was brisk yesterday and a substantial turnover —well in excess ot the daily average of recent weeks—was recorded. There was a slightly better ton© in the marketa feature of which was a marked advance in G. J. Coles. Sales were made up to -Sis 3d, an advance of 2s 6d since Tuesday. Woolworths, Ltd., were also firm, sales tieing made at 27s and 26s* 9d, six parcels going at the latter price. Woolworths, Ltd., second preference were done at 28s fid to 28s 5d and the New Zealand ordinaries were firm at 21s. Government loans showed little change, the only recorded business beig 4 per cents, 1946-49, at £lO4 7s 6d. Bank shares continued dull and weak. National of New Zealand eased to business at 53s 6d. and buyers stayed in at 52s 9d. Commercial of Australia sold at 16s 7d, late buyers offering 16s 5d and sellers'asking 16s 9d. Dalgety were wanted at £8 3s, and Goldsbrougb, Mort were easy at 30s 6d, sellers 30s lid. Auckland Gas were weak at 20s, sellers asking 20s sd. Business was done in Wellington Woollen at £5 3s to £5 4s. Broken Hill Pronrietary. •Electrolytic Zinc, Mount Lyell, and Barrier were firmer. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
