PERSONAL.
Mrs J. S. Lum6den, formerly of Feilding, has taken up her residence in Wellington. Mrs W. H. Meek and Miss A. Meek, of Dunedin, who have been the guests of Mr and. Mrs A. E. Bailev, of ‘.‘Awanui,” Kiwitea, are visiting friends in Wellington before returning home.
Mr F. H. Thomas, first- assistant at the Lytton Street School, has received notice of his appointment to the Utiku School, and leaves to take up his new duties in a month’s time. During his stay in Feilding Mr Thomas j has taken an interest in school sports and was recentlv re-elected secretary of the Public Schools Athletic Sports Association. , . Colonel Standish. of the Central Command, visited the Feilding Agricultural High School yesterday and inspected the cadets at platoon drill. Favourable comment was made by the visitor regarding the drill, which he described as excellent. Mrs E. Kerridge, of Feilding, left bv the Limited express last evening for Auckland, where she will spend a few weeks before proceeding to Sydney on holiday.
