(From Our Own Correspondent.) „ FOXTON, Feb. 22. During Saturday night the Manawatu River developed a “fresh” and on Sunday morning large quantities of timber were to bo scon coming down with the muddy waters. The high tide at the beach at midday loft the beach and riverfront strewn with logs and debris, a veritable harvest fortliose in need of winter firing at the resort. The picnic organised by the Foxton High School Old Pupils’ Association, which was held at Ohau Valley, was a most successful outing.
