MIGRATION QUESTION.
ROTARIANS’ DISCUSSION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 23. The question ■of whether Rotary should, as a corporate body, take action in awaking the general community to the need for a greater population in New Zealand was discussed at this morning’s session of the New Zealand district conference, and the resolutions committee of the conference, after hearing the views expressed, will bring down a resolution on which the delegates will be asked to decide what action should 'be taken.
The delegates generally were strongly impressed with the heed for the immigration of a good class of people into New Zealand, the only doubt voiced being as to whether corporate action was in accordance with Rotary procedure.
