DANCING SUCCESSES.
The pupils of Miss Jean fjeott, of Cuba Street, have been awarded several prizes in the national dancing sections at sports meetings during the past few weeks. At the Shannon sports Yvonne Nicholson was placed first in the sailor’s hornpipe (12 years and under), and Jea.n Holdsworth third in the Irish jig (12 years and under). At Bunnythorpe, Jean Holdsworth gained second place in the sword dance (14 years and under) and Ngaire Chatfield third in the sailor’s hornpipp (under 12 years), while Heather. Martin gained third in the Irish jig (14 years and under). On the same day. at Ohingaiti, Betty Waller won second place in the Highland fling, sword dance and Irish jig. and third in the sailor’s hornpipe (14 years and under); while at the Masterton Show Joyce Waller was awarded three third places (16 years and under). At the Woodville Show, Fay Rees was awarded second prize in the Highland, fling (9 years and under), Yvonne Nicholson first prize in the sailor’s hornpipe and third in the seantriuhhas (12 years and under), and Joan Waller first in the Highland fling (9 years and under). At the Mangatainoka sports Joan Waller gained first place in the Irish jig (under 12 years). Betty Thomson was placed third in the Highland fling (10 years and under) at the Levin Show.
