VISITORS ENTERTAINED.
DRIVE TO BEAUTY SPOTS. . Once again favoured with beautiful sunshine, over fifty of the visiting bandsmen’s wives and lady friends, accompanied by ladies of the Palmerston North band “committee, set off yesterday afternoon in two large, buses and several private cars for a further visit to beauty spots of the city. The first Halt was made at Mr Shailer’s nursery, where a feature was the size and beauty of the dahlias. The party then proceeded to Massey College, where a drive was made through the grounds. By the courtesy of Professor G. S. Peren, the college principal, the ladies were shown over the buildings, and many found pleasure in walking about the surroundings. The return journey was made through the Esplanade and round the outskirts of the city, concluding in the Square. The visitors were then the guests of the ladies’ committee at afternoon tea at the Rosco tearooms.
