DAIRY INTERESTS.
COMPANIES’ ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association was held to-day, Mr C. G. C. Dermer presiding in !the absence of Mr S. A. Broadbolt (Levin). Also present were Messrs P. Hansen (Awahuri), S. E. Algar (Taikorea), J. Boyce (Tui), R. Craig (Oroua Downs), and J. Devine (Kairanga).
The meeting discussed at length, in committee, the resolutions passed at the Dairy Board conference relating to the guaranteed price scheme. These advocated that the price should be fixed by a tribunal representative of the Government and the dairy, industry presided over by a Supreme Court judge. The resolutions were endorsed and copies are to be forwarded to companies for their opinions. It was contended that' the farmer was not being compensated for increased costs. A number of matters relating to awards affecting the industry were also discussed in committee.
