SWIMMING.
WEST END CLUB. On Wednesday evening, the West End Swimming Club held another series of races in the West End swimming bath for club cups and trophies. There was ■ a good attendance and all the events were keenly contested. Members of this club have shown a marked improvement on last year s performances. Quite a number or inter-club carnival events have fallen to their lot, members being successful at Feilding, Wanganui, Dannevirke, and Pahiatua. , Three teams of five members- each competed in a relay race, and an exciting finish was witnessed, E. Lciwards’s team winning by a very small margin. The open dive also proved an interesting event. Twelve competed, and some very fine diving was witness-
