CARDIFF GOALKEEPER BEATEN BY HIS OWN HALFBACK. —Had an artist set out to paint a picture with the title "Beaten,” he could not have better handled his su bject than did the alert photographer who snapped this picture of Goalkeeper Jones of Cardiff City stretched out in front of his nets as the ball drives epitomising defeat is Jones as he surveys the result of his vain effort to block the ball that came from the foot of Cardiff’s own left halfback, Mellor, as the latter attempted to clear. The incident o ccurred i n a cup-tie game between Cardiff city and Charlton Athletic at Charlton.
