(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, Feb. 21. The local horse sports committeo were unfortunate in the weather conditions on Saturday for their annual fixture. Although heavy rain set in until midday, in the afternoon it cleared. However, there was a good attendance, those present enjoying good sport. The events were keenly "contested. The club is to be congratulated on the efficient manner in which the sports were conducted. During the open walk competition a horse owned by Mr Denton (Otaki) slipped and had to bo destroyed.
