Dec. 21. “There is no use shutting oiir eyes to the fact that very large sums of New Zealand capital have been invested in Australia over the last few years,” said Mr Harmon Reeves, chairman of the Dunedin Stock Exchange, at the annual meeting today. 5 “In many cases this is because Australian investments give a higher return to the investor with more hope of future solidity, but mostly because of the fear to invest in New Zealand owing to dread of what Socialistic legislation will be brought in and what new Crushing taxation will be imposed.
