DULL WITH RAIN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. A rather intense depression is crossing the Dominion to-day, its centre extending across the middle portion of the Souht Island. The forecast is for north-westerly winds, strong to gale force, backing to southerly within the next 24 hours. The weather will be dull and misty with rain. Some heavy gales an dtnunder are probable in places, temperatures becoming cooler. Seas rough. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—2ft.
