(From Our Own Correspondent.) \ KAIRANGA, Dec. 13. An enjoyable “Back to Youth” dance was hold in the hall in aid of ■ jubilee funds, which will benefit to a largo extent. Mr Ganderton played an extra on the piano-accordion. Mr A. Pedersen acted as M.C. and the doorkeepers were, Messrs G. Carey and R. Crosbie. i ather Christmas distributed squeakers and streamers. A lucky dance was won by Miss B. Hughes and Mr R. Maclean. The best “back to childhood” dresses, judged by Mosdames H. R. Green ancj G. Davey, were worn by Miss G. Linklater and Mr H. Linklater. Among those present dressed as back to childhood were Misses J. Newman, E. Burmeister, I. Green B. Hughes, M. Clarke, A. Cooper, D. Clark, T. Davey N. Jackson, K. Howard, C. Allen, E." Kennedy, R. Campbell, J. Chapman F. Eglinton, J. Green, G. Linklater, M. Borkhan, D. Bell, Mesdames A. Pederson and A. R. Clarke. Those wearing evening dress: Misses H, Schreiber, pink taffeta; M. Woods, grocn satin; E. Davies, blue georgette; M. Slattery, blue floral taffeta; M. Greenhow, dusky pink cloque; A. Edwards, floral chiffon; K. Quigan, pink marocain; T. Cameron, green georgette; G. Proctor, floral taffota; H. Lawrence, pink voile; B. Grant, black and gold; M. Rowland, floral silk; I. Hoidin, Coronation blue velvet; D. Divcall, rose pink crepe; T. Lawrence, green marocain; C. Bush, pink taffeta; M. Beattie, red and black tunic frock. The Kairanga Tennis Club held a 10minute tournament. The following are the results: Miss F. Eglinton and W. Harrison beat Miss J. Newman and B. Neill, 21—13, Mrs Mitchell and R. Mildon beat Miss T. Davey and J.' Holland 18—12, Miss F. Eglinton and B. _ Neill beat Miss J. Newman and W. Harrison 18 —14, Miss Davey and Mildon beat Mrs Mitchell and J. Holland 21—15, Miss Newman and Mildon beat Miss Davey and Harrison 16—12, Mrs Mitchell and Neill beat Miss Eglinton and Holland 17—13, Mrs Mitchell and Harrison beat Miss Newman and Holland 20—7, Miss Eglinton and Mildon beat Miss Davey and Neill 15—14.
