LAND TAX. CLAIMS FOR RELIEF ON GROUNDS OF HARDSHIP. BY Section 20 of the Finance Act, 1937, a Committee is established to consider claims for the relief of taxpayers, on the ground of hardship, from their liability for land tax in respect of land held on the 31st day of March, 1936, or on the 31st day of March, 1937, and to make recommendations to the Hon. the Minister of Finance. Any taxpayer who desires to make a claim for consideration by the Committee must furnish his claim to the undersigned on or before the 31st day of January. 1938; such claim should set out in detail the financial position of the claimant, and the groundsupon which it is alleged that the - exaction of the full amount of land tax assessed would entail serious hardship.
