PAHIATUA, T)cc. 15. Mr H. Cotter presided over a meeting of the executive of the Pahiatua A. and P. Association. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the lato Messrs A. I). Bryant, K. J. Didsbury, and S. Bolton, and the late Mrs 0. H. Druce. I’ho following committee was appointed to inspect the Showgrounds on Tuesday next: Messrs H. Cotter, F. E. Ward, G. H. Brown, J. E. Murphy, W. Fulton and M. Hcichenbach. It was decided that the various chopping events bo revised and that the prize money for the big event be reduced from £lO to £5. It was resolved to add a class in the jumping events for horses that have never won an open competition jump at an A. and P. Show. The chairman donated a rose bowl for this class. It was also decided to add a weight-carry-ing hack class, over 13st., to the saddle horse section. The brood draught mare class, with foal at foot, was cut out and the following classes substituted: Yearling colt or filly, born since July 1, 1936: two-year-old mare or gelding, born since July 1, 1935; throe-year-old mare or golding, born since July 1, 1934. _ At a meeting of the parishioners of St. Peter’s Church, jJans were considered for the celebration next year of the golden jubilee of the church. The following committees were set up: Organising, Messrs G. L. Chatwin, J. Milne Allan and A. W. Hamilton; booklet, Mrs Crewe Messrs G. G. laylor, G. W. Chatwin, J. W. Sturton. J. Milne Allan-and A. W. Hamilton. Mcsdaines Crewe . and piirdic wore appointed convenors of a sub-committee to arrange a tea and garden party and McFrsrs W. L. Tattlo and G T. Cornelius conveners of the committee to control the arrangements for a dance. As a result of the shop hold by the Pahiatua branch of the Women’s Division of the Fanners’ Union the town clock fund has been augmented by £3 3s.
