BRITAIN’S OVERSEAS TRADE.
BIG EXPANSION RECORDED

For the first eleven months of this year imports into the United Kingdom totalled £935,412,236, an increase of £169,439,952 over those for the corresponding period of last year and of £251,856,535 owr the same period of 1935.
Exports at £477,979,846 represented an increase of £77,726,061 over last year, and £86,942,365 over 1935. Reexports totalled £79,224,009, an increase of £15,628,278 over last year and £20,402,934 over 1935. These figures are given in the Board of Trade’s monthly overseas trade returns.
Returns show that last month imports were valued at £97,251,216, compared with £96,085,427 in October and £78,679,845 in November last year. Exports of United Kingdom goods last month totalled £45,183,169, as against £47,216,048 in October and £38,441,349 in November, 1936. Re-exports last month were £5,305,646, as against £5,698,531 in October and £4,342,816 in November, 1936.
