KIDNAPPER’S LAIR.
VICTIMS IN TOMBLIKE PRISON-

A concrete-lined, tomblike prison, constructed by' _an alleged kidnapper, was described in a Court case this week. Franz Hanawald is charged with having kidnapped liis millionaire former employer, Julius Redlich. A ransom of £SOOO is said to have been demanded for Rediich’s safe return. Hanawald, the prosecution alleges, spent a year in constructing the tomblike prison in which ho confined Redlich. The cell was Bft by 4ft, and attached to f one of the concrete walls were chains from which hung handcuffs. , , . . Redlich alleges that his captor forced him at pistol-point to drive 20 miles blindfolded, with lus mouth gagged with adhesive tape.
