WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICtS. Business was very dull on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday and trading was of‘limited volume. The demand in most sections was subdued, and prices generally were barely steady. New Zealand Brewery shares were an exception and were actively traded on a firmer basis at up to 48s. Government loans were quiet, with a slightly easier trend. Bank shares were neglected, the few quotations showing little movement. There was an' inquiry for pastoral and financial issues. New Zealand industrial shares were, more or less stagnant. Among the leading Australian shares, British Tobacco were firm and Australian Glass a little stronger. Broken Hill Proprietary eased to business at 62s 6d. Colonial Sugar were firmer, there being unsupported buyers at £46 2s 6d. G. J. Coles sold at 83s and closed firm at 83s 6d, sellers 84s 6d.
