In their cricket match against Hunterville, Porewa lost seven wickets lor 196 runs (Parkinson 64, Marshall 31, Hollamore 41; Flattery 0 for 2). Hunterville replied with 145 (Hayward 42). Marton beat Old Boys, who had seven wickets down for 147 at close of play (Lyon, not out, 76). Marton made 155 (Openshaw 74, Shield 29; Jolly 6 for 36). The Wanganui Lawn Tennis Club’s No 2 team beat a Marton team by 11 sets and 130 games to 5 sets and 95 games, at Wanganui, on Saturday. In the C grade competition, Hunterville beat Marton by 8 sets and 122 games to 8 sets, and 118 games. The St. Andrew’s (Marton) team beat Rata, 8 sets and 131 games to 8 sets and 129 games.
