(From Our Own Correspondent.) TANGIMOANA, Dec. 6.

The Tangimoana Domain presents a hive of industry; the board have put men oh to cut the lupin and generally _ clear up the area in preparation for the inrush of campers during the holiday- season; the contractors for laying down of the tennis courts are making a good showing with ploughs and scoops. The School Committee has finalised the end of the school year functions. The concert is to be held in the McKclvic Hal 1, at the close of which the prizes will he distributed, and the teacher was authorised to procure the books, etc.. The committee undertook to enthusiastically support the “Leam-to-Swiin” week, and the otters of residents to assist the movement were received with thanks, the committee to eupply waterwings, etc. Preliminary arrangemente were made for the 7 holding of the picnic immediately after the school reassembles in February. The chairman referred in very sympathetic terms to the sad loss the district had sustained through the recent dcatth of Captain G. \V. Braddcll and a silent vote of sympathy to his widow and family was passed. Feeling reference was made at the tragic passing of Mr R. L. Elliott, of Palmerston North, son of Mr John Elliott. The chairman made reference to the useful work done by Mr Elliott, senr., as a former member of ihe committee and asked members to rise as a mark of rspect. The committee considered the entertainment for visitors during the. Christmas holidays. As usual children’s sports will be held. At the ordinary monthly meeting ot the Tangimoana branch of the . Labour Party Mr A. Carkcek presided. A new member was welcomed. A report on the recent council meeting at Sandon was delivered. Supper was provided by Miss Wilson and Mrs Webby.
