THE ONLY END.
UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER. WAR dT”SPAIN. LONDON, Nov. 27. A report from Barcelona says the loyalists claim to have completely defeated the rebels, augmented by Moorish troops in a 24-bour battle in Aragon. The Daily Mail’s correspondent at Burgos says General Franco stated that the war will end in a military triumph, not by mediation or compromise. 1 “I shall always refuse to consider any Red Government demand for an armistice,” General Franco said, “Unconditional surrender is the only end acceptable to nationalist Spain.” The correspondent .of the Times at Barcelona says the Government has agreed to reply to the Non-Interven-tion Committee, but no announcement is made of the terms. Meanwhile, the Government is closely watching the results of Lord Halifax’s talks, as it is suspected that “further interests of Spanish democracy may be sacrificed in an endeavour to satisfy tlie voracity of dictators.” A message from Perpignan says General Fraco has announced, on -the ground that his campaign demands a complete coastal blockade, that the neutral * zones of Valencia and Barcelona have- been suppressed. Ships anchoring at those places will in future be attacked.
