(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Nov. 24. Tho Fox ton Horticultural Society’s summer show, which was held on |Tucsday afternoon, was continued in the evening when* a much appreciated programme was contributed by a Shannon party brought over by Mr C. M. Cronquest. At tho conclusion of the concert Mr D. Christie announced tho points and special prizewinners as follows: Hosts, points prize, Miss Hughes; late Mrs A. S. Easton’s trophy, Miss Hughes; Mr J. M. Thomson’s second prize, Miss 0. Nyo; champion rose in show, Mrs J. W. Hodgson. Sweet peas,
points prize, Mrs Will. Cut blooms, points prize, Mrs Leicester; most entries in cut bloom section (Mrs F. Procter’s bulbs), Mrs Leicester. Decorative, (Mrs Saunders’ trophy to be won three times); Mrs R. Owen; Messrs Pratt and Co.’s cup for decorative table, Mrs R. Owen. Vegetables (Capt. Middleton’s cup), Mrs H. Satherlv. Cookery (Messrs John Aitchison’s trophy), Mrs Doyle. Home industries, Mrs Doyle. Needlework, (Messrs C. M. Ross Co.’s trophy), Mis J. S. Shorthouse. Children’s class, M. Littleton. Woollen work (Mrs Moore’s trophy), Mrs T. R. Saunders. Kitchen garden (Mr H. Osborne’s donation), Mrs Rand 1, Mrs Melton 2. Most points over the Spring and Summer Shows, Mrs A. Doyle, of Levin, who will hold the society’s perpetual cup for the next twelve months.
