HALCOMBE.
(From Our'> Own Gontspondent.) HALCOMBE, Nov. 24. The TV.D.F.U. hold a successful evening on Tuesday when the Jubilee Flail was filled to capacity, many of those present had come long distances. The main part of the programme consisted of drama competition, there being four plays staged. Two were by local talent, while the other two were by Feilding and the Kiwitca-Kimbolton branch, Mm L. Bristow, of Palmerston North, who judged the competition, placed the Feilding play first. She also gave helpful criticism and advice to the producers and players. The cast of 'the Feilding play was' ns follows: Mesdames E. Scott, S. McDowall, IF. Mayor, V. Lawrence and Mieses M. McLean and E. Younger. Mrs E. Palmer was the producer. The Kimbolton-Kiwitoa play was staged by Misses G. Stack. Meg Cranston and Jean Tappin. Halcombc’s players were: Misses Maisio Bush, Doris McNac. Blanche Prior, Margaret Mason, Joan F’ergusson, Phyllis Blunden, Violet Blundon and Esmo McLennan. Songs were rendered by Mr X. Shelton and the IFalcombe Glee Singers, the members of which were Mesdames J. Curtis, M. C. Amadio, J. L. Fcrgusson, TV. TV. Schacran-Brett and Misses McLaren and E. Fcrgusson. At the conclusion of the programme supper was served and the remainder of the evening wns devoted to dancing, Mr E. TV. Barnett was M.C. Air TV. Hcappey is a visitor to New Plymouth, where he will attend his mother’s 94th birthday celebrations. Mrs A.-Petti-grew and family have returned to Halcombo after a holiday spent in Uinutoi.
