DECREASE IN STERLING EXCHANGE S DAIRY ADVANCES RISING. The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at tho close of business on Monday, November 22, is as follows: —

Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less No. 5) to notes and other demand liabilities, 74.943 per cent., compared with 75.665 per cent, on November 15. A decrease of £123,836 in sterling exchange brings tho total down to £16,552,344. Advances to the State dairy industry account total £4,585,014, an ir-ercase of £204,119. Advances to the State for other purposes are unchanged at £700,000. Gold at £2,801,791 and investments at £2,658,325 show no change. Subsidiary coin is £1406 lower at £83,464. Other assots total £81.782, an increase of £4276. Tho note issue at £13,263,032 shows a decrease of £16.876. Demand liabilities to the State amount to £4,486.959. a decrease of £76,041. The trading banks’ rcservo balances have increased by £341,900 and now total £7,438.767. Other demand liabilities at £553,136 show a decrease of £167,129. Liabilities in currencies other than New _ Zealand remain at £62,219. Other liabilities amount to £158,607, an increase of £I3OO. The statement balances at £27,462,719, an increase of £83,153.
